We Had A Wonderful Easter

29 March, 2005 (07:27) | Family | By: Alexander Raiano III

Alex's First Easter

My family and I had a wonderful Easter this past weekend. I think everybody would agree that it was nice to have a child around for the holiday. Alex received several Easter presents including a stuffed animal, clothes & a mat that plays sounds when he crawls on it. Here are some pics from Easter.

Tom With His $112

On Friday night myself and 9 other guys got together and played some Texas Hold’Em. Everybody seemed to have a good time especially Tom who won $112! Shell and I told him that he owes us some $$ because we taught him how to play :(. Tom and I would like to try and get everybody together once a month. We’ll let you know when the next poker night is. Here’s the only pics I took of the event.

One Month Old

Alex is one month today! I can’t believe how fast this past month has gone by. To celebrate his one-month birthday Shell and I are going to picture people to get his picture taken. I hope that he cooperates. Our appointment is for 5:40. This is usually his “fussy time.”

Acting Like A Kid In A Toy Store All Over Again

14 March, 2005 (18:05) | Family | By: Alexander Raiano III

Yesterday Shell & I took Alex to Toys R Us for the first time. He pretty much slept the entire time (what do you expect from a one month old). Even though he wasn’t that excited I sure was! I found myself acting like I was three years old all over again ;). I saw so many toys that I know he will love someday. I know what you’re thinking, in a couple of years I’ll probably be saying that I wish he didn’t like this stuff. I’m sure that he’ll get whatever he wants and I’ll be wishing that he would like something that was a little cheaper.

Here are some items that I am sure he is going to want someday:

  • A bike: what kid doesn’t want a bike?
  • A Hot wheel: They still make these don’t they? I use to love my hot wheel!
  • Some type of action figure: I was addicted to Star Wars figures as a kid. I’m sure there will be something comparable when he is old enough.
  • A video game console: I pretty much had every video game console on the market. Maybe that’s why I’m such a big geek now. I always loved to play Nintendo & even Atari!

I’m sure you’re aware that the list could go on and on. Needless to say, the toy industry has me by the “you know what” for the next 10 or so years. As of right now, I’m enjoying it. Check back in a couple of months!

Yorkipoo Pups (Alfred & Elmira) With Baby Alex

Yorkipoo With Baby Alex

To be perfectly honest, prior to having Alex I was a little concerned with how our two Yorkipoo pups (Alfred & Elmira) would be with the Baby. The first day/night was rough however; now everything is going great. Elmira really seems to love the baby. Every morning she runs upstairs and looks all over the place for Alex. Alfred isn’t as interested in Alex. Every once and a while he’ll go up to Alex and sniff him however; his true love is still Shelly :).

Alex’s First Taste Of Capitalism

13 March, 2005 (07:56) | Family | By: Alexander Raiano III

Shell, Alex & I all went to Target this past Friday. This was Alex’s first time out other than to visit his Grandparents or the doctor. He was not impressed with Target; in fact, he slept the entire time ;).

Where Does This Amazing Love Come From?

10 March, 2005 (06:54) | Family | By: Alexander Raiano III

As a child I never really understood how my parents could love me even when I did some crazy/bad stuff. I’m not saying I was a terror however; I wasn’t exactly a saint ;). Just this morning I think I figured out where this love starts.

I changed Alex this morning around 5:50AM. For whatever reason, he decided that he didn’t want his sleeper on anymore so when I took off his diaper he proceeded to urinate all over his sleeper. Needless to say, I had to take off his onesie and sleeper. Like an idiot, I picked him up while he was naked in order to remove the sleeper from the changing table. Anybody who has had a boy knows that what I did was a stupid mistake. Alex started to urinate all over my shirt! This wasn’t the first time he has urinated with his diaper off however; it was the first of many times he got me with it :).

To get to the point of this post, when he urinated on me I wasn’t at all irritated. In fact, my first thought was that he might be cold now that he has urine all over him. I guess like my parents, I have an intense love for him that prevents me from getting irritated even when he pees on me ;). In fact, if I did get irritated then there would be something wrong with me. It really is amazing raising a child!

The Big Weigh In

10 March, 2005 (06:36) | Family | By: Alexander Raiano III

Alex had to go to the doctor yesterday to be weighed. At his last visit, he weighed 6 lbs 10 oz. Yesterday he weighed in at 7 lbs 4 oz! That’s 10 ounces in seven days! I believe the next weight check comes at his 2-month visit. I told him that he definitely takes after his Dad ;).

What I Have To Look Forward To

9 March, 2005 (19:07) | Misc | By: Alexander Raiano III

Here’s an email I received from my sister titled: “See What You Have to look forward to”

Almost better than a cup of coffee to start your morning…. If you need a laugh, read through these Children’s Science Exam Answers.

These are real answers given by children.

Q: Name the four seasons.

A: Salt, pepper, mustard and vinegar.

Q: Explain one of the processes by which water can be made safe to drink.

A: Flirtation makes water safe to drink because it removes large pollutants like grit, sand, dead sheep and canoeists.

Q: How is dew formed?

A: The sun shines down on the leaves and makes them perspire.

Q: How can you delay milk turning sour?

A: Keep it in the cow.

Q: What causes the tides in the oceans?

A: The tides are a fight between the Earth and the Moon. All water tends to flow towards the moon, because there is no water on the moon, and nature hates a vacuum. I forget where the sun joins in this fight.

Q: What are steroids?

A: Things for keeping carpets still on the stairs.
